Company Sales Manager
Background.
Company is planning a large manufacturing and engineering presence in Colorado and with its headoffice a strong worldwide position in the hanger and cold support business. Company new plant now seeks a capable Area Sales Manager to develop its sales strength and gain further penetration its markets.
The Area Sales Manager reports to General Manager.
He/She will be supported by GM, and personnel as and when appropriate.
Primary objectives.
Achieve profitable repeat business with a broad customer base in the US market for both domestic and overseas projects. Make it as easy for US customers to deal with US as with our worldwide competitors.

We will achieve this by delivering a first class service to our customers, training, developing and rewarding our employees and initiating close working relationships with our suppliers.
Key job requirements.
1) Gain a complete understanding of Company’s products and services and the applications of the products to be able to talk intelligently to customers.
2) Introduce Company companies to all potential customers and obtain inclusion on their vendor’s list for all projects they are executing. Maintain regular contact with such customers.
3) Introduce Company companies to all end users in North American (Typically Oil companies and power utilities) and obtain inclusion on their vendor’s list for all projects they are constructing.
4) Make technical presentations to piping engineers and other interested personnel within the customer base to make them aware of the benefits of Company products and design software with the aim of Company specified.
5) Obtain RFQs from potential customers and relay all necessary information to COMPANY to enable a fully complying bid to be submitted.
6) Follow up quotations and obtain information as to the standing of Company’s offers and the competitor’s. Convert such bids into contract awards.
7) Feed back to COMPANY all known information on projects being executed and bid by customers in the territory, this information will be distributed to other sales areas when more than one country is involved in a project.
8) Provide technical assistance to customer’s engineers.
9) Understand the engineering service provided by COMPANY in the market and ensure all customers are aware of this service and using it as frequently as possible.
10) Liase with COMPANY’s partner in US on all engineering jobs being undertaken and progress them to ensure satisfactory completion.
11) Be aware of, by contact with COMPANY, the progress on contracts and keep customers informed of any problems.
12) Visit customers to discuss and resolve any problems they may have with COMPANY and or its products.
13) When necessary assist COMPANY’s finance department to collect outstanding debts from customers.
14) Report weekly to COMPANY on all visits and discussions with customers and the status of outstanding offers.
